Potential Matches

Marialice Clark, Omaha, NE

Marialice Clark, c. 1972

Details of Disappearance, courtesy of the Charley Project

According to the Charley Project: Marialice was last seen near the Bali-Hi Lounge in Omaha, Nebraska on August 1, 1972. She got into a car with license plates from Chicago, Illinois and has never been heard from again. Her mother initially believed she'd simply run away from home and would return within a few weeks. When she didn't, her family reported her missing on September 27.

Two years prior to her disappearance, Marialice's name was listed on a federal search warrant as an informant. Twelve years old at the time, she had reportedly told the authorities that dynamite and machine guns were hidden in the headquarters of an Omaha group called the National Committee to Combat Fascism, which was an offshoot of the Black Panther Party. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) had gotten a warrant to search the building, but the search never happened.

It's unclear whether Marialice's alleged role as a police informant was a factor in her later disappearance, but her family believes the ATF lied about her giving them information and placed her in danger by naming her in the warrant.

Although Marialice's mother has died, she has other relatives who are still looking for answers in her case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

Marialice seems unlikely to be a match for Herald Doe due to location and circumstances but due to her physical description being such a close match, she is listed here.

Ila Veronica Tucker Maynard, Greensboro, NC

Veronica Maynard, c. 1971

Veronica was last seen in Greensboro, North Carolina on December 4, 1974. Accounts differ as to the circumstances; some state she was on foot, and others that she was riding in a gold 1971 Chevrolet Nova. She disappeared that day and has never been heard from again.

Veronica did not have a vehicle at the time of her disappearance, and she left behind her purse, money and identifaction. Foul play is suspected in her case and her husband, Julian, is the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Veronica's family believe she is deceased and hope to recover her body. Her case remains unsolved. She lived in the 200 block of Baker Drive at the time of her disappearance.

Veronica seems unlikely to be a match for Herald Doe due to location and circumstances but due to her physical description being such a close match, she is listed here.

Details of Disappearance, courtesty of NamUS

Cellastine was last seen by her family in Jersey City NJ, approximately 1967-1968, where she disappeared after work. Her family never heard from her again.

If Cellastine is indeed Herald Doe, she would have been missing for 7 or 8 years before her skeletonized remains were found across the country in Herald, CA. She would have been in her mid-20’s at the time of her death.
